2024 PCA Convention May 15 - 18, Warwick/Providence, RI

Your Online Headquarters for all Convention related information

It's been two years since we have had a PCA Convention and it’s time to register for the 2024 PCA Convention to be held in Providence-Warwick, RI from May 15-18. In addition to the friendship of our members, we have assembled a convention that is one of a kind. It will include our traditional activities plus some exciting new additions. The program will highlight many great speakers as shown in the Convention Program.

Traditionally, we will have an Artist Fair exhibiting the latest work by our artists on Wednesday evening. Throughout the convention there will be a Glass Paperweight Fair where one will be able to view and, if so inclined, purchase the paperweight of their dreams.

As an added treat, on view will be two special exhibitions. One will focus on New England Paperweight Factories curated by Dana Reneau and Allan Port. A special exhibition of works by Rick Ayotte has been curated by PCA President Gordon Park to help celebrate Rick's 80th birthday.

In addition to the two paperweight exhibitions and running concurrently during the hours of the Paperweight Fair, attendees will have the unique opportunity to dive deep into paperweights for an immersive multimedia paperweight experience by Melissa Ayotte.

On Friday there will be a choice of three museum visits. The trip to the Museum of Natural History at Harvard to see the Blaschka Glass Flowers is a full day trip. The other two trip options will be a morning visit to the Sandwich Glass Museum OR the New Bedford Museum of Glass. These two trips also include demos at the Blackstone River Glass Center by PCA Artists in the afternoon. All of these will have limited space and signing up for specific programs will be required.

On Saturday morning we will be showing the new documentary film “Paul Stankard: Flower & Flame”. This film was funded in part by PCA Grants.

Free public events include artists demos at Blackstone River Glass Center on Friday afternoon, a showing of “Paul Stankard: Flower & Flame” on Saturday afternoon, and free public admission to the Paperweight Fair Saturday Noon - 5pm.

 2024 Annual Paperweight

For this year's annual paperweight, inspiration was taken from the great state of Rhode Island, the location of the much anticipated 2024 Biennial Convention. The artists who brought you these beautiful weights are American artist Clinton Smith and UK artist William Manson Jr. Click here to learn more.
