Stankard: Flower & Flame is the latest documentary from award-winning filmmaker Daniel R. Collins, celebrates the life’s work of internationally acclaimed glass artist Paul J. Stankard. Inspired by his rural childhood memories, Paul evolved the centuries-old craft tradition of the glass paperweight into a fine art form, battling dyslexia and defying critics on his way to international fame. For more than 60 years, Paul has honed his skills in Southern New Jersey, the historic epicenter of American glassmaking. As he enters his 80th year, he is still creating some of the best work of his career. Beginning in January 2024, the film will reach audiences around the world, starting with a documentary film showcase at the Smithsonian-affiliated Morris Museum in Morristown, NJ on 1/31/24.
